On day 1 we will explore the latest market trends, investor appetite for sustainability, the regulatory agenda, and how the industry goes about transitioning towards sustainability.\n\n\n\n10:00\n\nWelcome Address\nJudith Bogner, Master of Ceremonies\n\n\n\n10:05\n\nFinancing Europe’s Sustainable Future\nHE Yuriko Backes, Luxembourg Minister of Finance\n\n\n\n10:20\n\nKeynote Speech\nWerner Hoyer, President, European Investment Bank\n\n\n\n10:35\n\nMarket Trends in Sustainable Finance: How hungry are investors?\nJennifer Wu, Global Head of Sustainable Investing, J.P. Morgan Asset Management\n\n\n\n10:50\n\nReturns and sustainability, a contradiction?\nEarly adoption of sustainable finance was often hampered by the idea that returns and sustainability were contradictory to each other. However, recent evidence seems to show otherwise. Compared to their traditional counterparts, many sustainable investments seem to outperform and have also seen a far stronger growth in terms of net flows. Does this contradiction therefore still exist? Our first panel will delve into this, looking at the search for both yield and sustainability.\nModerator: Kenza Bryan, Moral Money Reporter, Financial Times\nChristopher Flensborg, Head of Climate and Sustainable Finance, SEB\nAbraham Lioui, Finance Professor, EDHEC Business School\n\n\n\n11:10\n\nWhere are we in the Sustainable Finance action plan and what’s next on the EU regulatory agenda?\nClaude Marx, Director General, CSSF\n\n\n\n11:25\n\nGlobal alignment of Sustainable Finance: convergence or divergence?\nHow can the sustainability agenda be accelerated? Is it through the convergence of sustainable finance standards across the globe, or do market intricacies make that an impossible task? The EU has taken a firm stance on a regulatory top-down approach, while in the US, for example, a markets-based approach is likely. What does this mean for investor and financial firms that seek clarity? Will defined standards bolster confidence in the market? Our second panel of day one will examine this intricate issue.\nModerator: Simon Mundy, Moral Money Editor, Financial Times\nRie Asakura, Deputy Director for the International Affairs and Risk Analysis Division, Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA)\nVictor van Hoorn, Managing Director & Head of Brussels Office, ICI Global\nPetr Wagner, Deputy Head of International Affairs Unit, European Commission\n\n\n\n11:55\n\nFinancing the transition: the industry perspective\nGenuino Christino, CFO, ArcelorMittal\ninterviewed by Sarah Murray, Journalist, Financial Times (invited)\n\n\n\n12:10\n\nEnd of day 1\n\n \nDAY 2: Developments in Sustainable Finance\nCombatting climate change is a clear priority for the sustainability agenda, however sustainable finance goes beyond the E. On the second day of the sustainable finance forum we’ll delve into the other factors of sustainable finance, including the S & G, labelling, the data issues and the carbon market.\n\n10:00\n\nWelcome Address\nJudith Bogner, Master of Ceremonies\n\n\n\n10:05\n\nThe growing importance of the S and the G\nJulie Becker, CEO, Luxembourg Stock Exchange\n\n\n\n10:20\n\nFinance and Human Rights: Assessing Progress\nProf. Dorothée Baumann-Pauly, Director Geneva Center for Business and Human Rights, University of Geneva\nCecilia Barral Diego, Head of the legal research team, Löning – Human Rights & Responsible Business\n\n\n\n10:40\n\nSwimming in a sea of data\n\n\n\n10:55\n\nSustainable Finance toolbox\nGreen bonds are undoubtedly the most well-developed instrument relating to sustainable finance, however a wide range of innovative solutions now exists for financial services firms looking to increase their sustainable finance offering: from new debt-instruments such as sustainability-linked bonds, social bonds and more, to sustainability or ESG-linked loans and Article 8 or 9 funds. How do firms go about developing these solutions and matching them to their product line-up? Our first panel of the day will explore this very topic.\nModerator: Adrienne Klasa, Asset Management Reporter, Financial Times\nFlorent Deixonne, Head of ESG Regulatory Strategy, Amundi\nDenise Delaney, Head of Responsible Business, Liberty Specialty Markets\nRoss Keeling, Origination Director, Sustainable Finance Europe, HSBC\n\n\n\n11:25\n\nThe EU Carbon Market Reform\nVerena Ross, Chair, European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA)\n\n\n\n11:40\n\nWhat future for labelling?\nSustainable finance is becoming increasingly ingrained into the overall financial landscape. New disclosure regulations, taxonomies, and standards are formalising financial products. How will this formalisation affect the future of sustainable finance labelling? Our final panel brings together two experts to delve into how labelling will evolve going forward.\nModerator: Silvia Pavoni, Journalist, Financial Times (invited)\nIsabelle Delas, CEO, LuxFLAG\nPer Sandell, Head of Financial Services, Nordic Swan Ecolabel\n\n\n\n11:55\n\nConcluding Remarks\nNicolas Mackel, CEO, Luxembourg for Finance\n\n\n\n12:00\n\nEnd of day 2\n\n\n\n
